Overview

Established in 1905 as a small medical school, the National University of Singapore (NUS) has since greatly expanded its academic offerings and has grown and matured into a global university which consistently ranks among the top 25 universities in the world. NUS prides itself on its strengths in education and research, while at the same time striving to be a powerhouse of technology and innovation.  NUS offers a global approach to education and research with a focus on Asian perspectives and expertise.
 

Academics

The NUS curriculum is broad-based and flexible, allowing students to choose from a diverse range of courses. Faculties open to exchange at NUS are: Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Science, School of Business, School of Computing, School of Design & Environment.
 

Student Life

At NUS you can find student clubs and organizations, a lively arts community complete with modern performance and museum facilities, top notch sports and recreation venues, state of the art IT infrastructure and high speed network, a number of on-campus dining options, as well as comprehensive student support services. Over 38,000 students from 100 countries further enrich the community with their diverse social and cultural perspectives, making campus life vibrant and exciting. Undergraduates can participate in various student-run groups and activities.
 

Housing

Exchange students may indicate their interest in student accommodation during their  application for NUS Student Exchange Programme (SEP) via the NG Admission Application System. Please note that due to overwhelming response from NUS students, housing is subject to availability, and the University may not be able to accommodate all exchange applicants. 
 

Location

NUS is located in the small island city-state / country of Singapore, on the southernmost tip of the Malay peninsula. You will find an exciting blend of cultures in this city with strong influences from its Chinese, Malay, and Indian populations as well as the multitude of other ethnic groups who call this city-state their home. Singapore has four official languages: English, Chinese, Malay, and Tamil. English is the main language of education. Blending the old and the new; Singapore has something for everyone: great food, arts, culture, entertainment, shopping, history, parks, nature, adventure, business, technology, education, and much more.
